-
- Requirements
- ============
- Windows 98, Me, 2000 Professional, XP Home, and XP Professional
- Windows 95 and NT are not supported.
- Windows XP 64bit and 64bit Itanium Windows 2003 server are not
- supported.
- Windows 98 requires Internet Explorer V5.0 or higher.
- 800 x 600 pixel display
- DirectX 8.0 or higher
- 32MB RAM
- 2MB of free hard disk space
- (plus additional hard disk space to run the Disk test)
- Note: Where SIMD CPU instructions are not supported by the PC
- hardware, for example on older systems and some tablet PC's,
- the relevant tests will be omitted, resulting in a reduced
- performance rating.
-
- Purchasing
- =========
- Details of how to purchase the software can be found on the
- PassMark web site.

-
- Documentation
- =============
- All the documentation is included in the help file.
- It can be accessed from the Help menu.
-
- Known issues
- ============
- Disk test, Windows 98.
- If the correct chipset device drivers have not been
- installed and DMA support is not enabled for the disk,
- then the system may appear to freeze for the duration
- of the disk test. Please consult your hard disk
- manufacturer for instructions regarding the correct
- DMA settings for your drive.
-
- 3D Test, Legacy video cards, Windows 98.
- Older video adapters may behave erratically during
- the 3D test or may lockup the system if the video
- drivers do not fully support DirectX. All modern
- cards with DirectX compliant drivers should function
- properly
-
- 3D Test, NVIDIA video cards, Windows XP, PC-Anywhere.
- When running Windows XP with PC-Anywhere 10.5 installed
- on an NVIDIA chipset based video card, pcAnywhere must
- be placed into "Compatibility" mode for the 3D tests
- to function. This is a known compatibility issue
- that will be addressed in the next release of
- pcAnywhere. Updating to the latest video drivers on
- the system may remove the need to manually change
- the pcAnywhere settings
-
- 3D Test, Software Emulation option.
- The software emulation option in the advanced 3D test
- will only function when the full version of the DirectX
- SDK (software development kit) is installed.
-
- Advanced CD & Disk test.
- When using the cached testing options, benchmark results
- can vary dramatically between the first test run and
- subsequent test runs. This is due to the operation of the
- Windows cache and is normal behaviour.
